I’m baaaaaaaaaaaack!!!! Hey there amazing people. I know that I have been M.I.A, but thank God I am back up and able. With all the new fears that plague our society and nation, I thought I would post on something a little different. Reminding us, as God reminds me, that remaining as still as possible while we pray and wait for improvement, is not only the best decision for our physical well being, but our mental well being also.
Let me explain…
Think about it
Have you ever been studying for a test, or doing some sort of research and all of a sudden, boom, crash! Science tells us that is the “adrenaline crash” produced by our body sending messages to the brain about providing the “fight or flight” factor, will eventually reach it’s max and just crash. Another example would be when you have had coffee that produces a rush of energy due to caffeine, then, crash! What a lot of people don’t realize, is that crash is coming from a flow of too many messages to the brain faster than it can produce at a healthy pace. In other words, an overload. In a time where everything is digital, and virtual, do you think it is possible to have an “information overload”?

The Reality of Destruction
The sad, yet scary truth surrounding our reality, is that before crisis hit the nation, we were already on our individual paths of destruction. Ever-changing technology and the constant fight for improvement or status through comparison was at the front of all priority. Now, in the fight to find a “new normal”, it has not changed by much. With all the virtual ways to stay connected, we have now found new things to obsess about. The obvious and most important thing on everyone’s mind is the fight to stay alive. Naturally speaking based on science and how our bodies were created in their normal function, this puts the body under stress in the fight of “survival”; as mentioned above. Depending on who we are and the habits we have built through life, the crash comes at different times, but it inevitable if the proper measures and rest are not in our routine.
Truth for what we don’t know
If you are anything like me, SURVIVAL was everything. Growing up in the distrust of the world and the constant hamster wheel of comparison and people pleasing, my mind was constantly on the go with very little time to rest. Or so I thought. Luckily for me, I found truth in God’s word that showed me what I didn’t know. He showed me that it was ok to not ALWAYS have to be strong, or to all have the answers, or that it was ok if I didn’t even simply have the urge to do anything that day. It doesn’t mean the end of of your life, and trust me, the world will surely continue long after I am gone. In Matthew 11:28, I am reminded that God is rest through Jesus Christ, and I can bring my burdens to him. “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” There is so much truth that is alive and relatable today. I am also reminded in Ecclesiastes 1:9 that though the problems we see today seem like they are new, generations and centuries before our time people have seen similar or worse things than that of the now. “History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.”
Perspective Shift-Choosing not to know
Now that we have taken a little look at the science of life, let’s take a self-evaluation for a moment. Take a look around your life and the things that plague you. Is it lack of work, declining health of yourself or a loved one? Is it bills, and the non-changing status of our declining economy? Whatever it is, or whoever you are, there are things that the body does that are out of control, just as we do not have control of the external circumstances in our worlds that seek to distract us from living healthy functional lives. What we do have control over is “self”. There is a difference between ignorance in not knowing or having information, and ignorance in choosing not to be involved. When we don’t know something, typically we can just go to our handy mobile/transferable devices, and seek out information on anything we want to know right at our fingertips. Here’s is where it gets tricky. The ignorance in not being involved takes much more effort. I bet just reading “not being involved” sends a chill down your spine. LOL.
Ignorance-Possibility for a new norm?
Growing up, there were a couple of very known sayings in the streets that you have probably heard yourself. “Snitches get stitches”, or “I don’t know anything, I didn’t see anything”, or if you are from my husbands hood, it was ” I don’t want to know, I don’t need to know, I don’t have to know”. Essentially, they all mean the same thing. DON’T GET IN IT!!! Before we go any further, let me be clear that I am not encouraging violence, but rather using examples to the context. LOL. Thank you for your mercy. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s continue. When you evaluate your routines, friendships, mentors, work life, personal/social life, and/or spiritual life, do you find that a lot of your stress comes from being involved with more than you can handle or control. The best example of this could be the mutual crisis we all share in this current season of the nation. We cannot control the plagues and sicknesses of our time any more than we can control the rain of the sky. Why obsess about the fear of sickness hitting your home, but not fear getting hit by a car on the way to do groceries? Why isolate from God, family and friends, but crawl into bed with the poisons of your mobile device or computer that eat away at us little by little? The harsh reality of our time is that we are constantly pointing the finger at someone else for our fears, or lack-thereof, rather than excepting responsibility and taking a look at the finger we use to control our own lives. Can we actually choose ignorance and to NOT be involved?

Good news -It’s all in progression
The good thing with God is He comes along with the best news ever. He is with you and for you, you just have to accept that in faith. Yes, I am a Christian now, but as you will remember from past posts, I was not always this way and very far from. I promise what He has for me, He has also for you. Now is the time, but remember, step by step. Prayer first, then like princess “Elsa” said it best, LET IT GOOOOOOOOO! And please allow me to tear down any other lies you may have heard about prayer. When we pray, it is not that God can prove His faithfulness. Prayer is the result of the retreat of the enemy who knows God is true to His faithfulness and Integrity. In other words, we pray to remind the enemy that even though we don’t see it, we still believe God is who He says He is, and He is true to His word in the defeat of the devil and all he plans against us. We have the opportunity each day to make it better than the last. I use a few simple little tricks to remind me to do the best I can, with what I can control, and not let anything control me in the process. Not perfect, but it’s all in the progression. Here is one thing that helps me and could also be the start on your journey to a new life of rest and faith: Practice+Perseverance and Practical Application=Progression. Anything that we may be good at in life will come with practice, and perseverance. Make it a habit to remember to remain true to your moral character, while seeking to be better each day for yourself and those around you.
Lastly, a little advice from Momma KrizG: Think good thoughts, Speak life and not death, Be positive and make a difference while you wait, and Make Responsible Choices.
Micah 6:8 “Do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.“
