Broken…Whole!

Spoken can be confusing-here are some words:

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?
Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?

A broken soul I still remember the time when I felt rejected by both the church and the world.  I can still feel some of those wounds of fear and rejection to this day.  We are all majestic miracles in the making, and God will continue to cover that pain with His perfect love in my life, as I believe He can do the same for you.  Those who believed like I do, and those who were far from it alike, had a lot of the same perspectives, yet so different when it came to the final choice.  Going through a dark time to come back and haunt me, turning back to the familiar is most would do, myself included.  Even then, being pushed back to the “other side” to defend the assumption of misplacement.  My non-believer friends thought they were doing me a favor by rejecting me.  Somehow not wanting me to continue to be like them, but rather, to go back to my “new life” as a Christian, and do not give up on NOT being like them; or rather how WE used to be together.  Nice thing, right?  Until getting to the other side and realizing they had a totally different perspective.  To them, I looked like the world, and no one who ever looked like me could not truly have healing.  They never said this of course, but their harsh assumptions about “how” I struggled, and how I could say I was free just could not make sense to me.  How could we, those who believe in the Almighty God as healer, could not believe that someone could come back from the worse situations and choices, despite any momentary lapse of judgment.  It was not until I fell in the “black” and “dark” places on the other side that I realized forgiveness was a must if I ever hoped on seeing things for the way they truly are.

Made Whole

Here is what I have learned no matter what we believe or which side of the world we are on.  I have learned that whether you are happy, sad, mad, frustrated, whole, or broken, we are all called what science says is that of a species called HUMAN.  I know right, mind blowing that we are all human with human desires and perspectives that make us the beings we are in our everyday lives.  Some of us want specific things, but most desires are pretty generalized to the basic need of the human psyche.  This is a concept that most do not understand if you are not a book freak like I am.  Knowledge is power and wisdom is bliss I always say.  But what good is the information with no perspective or experience.  Hints this blog and why I have chosen to show a different light on what freedom looks like.  Freedom is known when we let go of our desire to please self, or even others, and want to seek to please the creator who made you so intricately and complex to your core just so you could be called unique and specific to the Heart of God.  See, some of our desires would deceive us into things we are happy being a modified, less version of ourselves for society to be more accepting of us.  Here is my question.  Why would you want to be like everyone else if the Lord of the universe created space and time, created you in His image, and gave our souls the refreshment of his unfailing Love-just so He could call you a son and daughter?  So, we could be reconciled to the Father in faith free from the pain and condemnation that so entangles us into believing that we are broken goods that deserve nothing less than to settle.  Really ask, WHY?

Hope-The Other Side

Now that you are starting your new journey to discovery and finding purpose and true meaning for your own life, it is a good place to let you know the good news.  Faith, Hope, and Love will always remain, and the Greatest will always be Love. (1 Corinthians 13:13).  Just let that sink it.  The greatest of them being LOVE.  Love cast out fear.  Love cast out shame.  Love cast out guilt.  Love casts out what you did last night, today, or even what you have planned to do tonight.  Even greater than that, Love is more powerful than any harm you could cause yourself, or even allowing someone else to cause harm to you.  God’s love is the best news you could ever here about since it is after all, God.  But more than that, if you would just pick up the Bible for yourself, you will see that He is a selfish God for you and every time your heart breaks, so does His.  Have Faith that this could be true for you as it has been for me and so many more millions and trillions of people over centuries dating back to the time when Jesus walked the earth over 2000 years ago.  Have Hope that your story is not finished, and God is working in your life even though you may not see it.  But most importantly, have Love for yourself and for the God of the universe that thought you were so worth it, He sent His only son to be the gateway to access the Love of God whenever you need it! (John 3:16) You are wonderfully made in His image, and He is pursuing you.  Will you choose to believe that you are worth that much?
