Anyone who has ever had surgery knows that it can be an intense process of healing, hurting, and sometimes, hopelessness. If you are the lucky few who have come out of it, fighting, and have a story to tell like myself, you are in the right place. I first, congratulate you for breaking the mold and being courageous enough to let healing happen without taking your desire or motivation for life in the process.
The majority of people who have experienced any major surgery, broken bones, traumatic car accidents, or anything related, will just go about life as if nothing happened and have no change of heart or mind whatsoever, with the thought that once they are healed it is over; and get back to life. They are also usually the same people just as quickly to pass judgement on others who may use a different method, or take longer in their healing journey. It is a sad reality, truly, because the process occurring in the body goes beyond what anyone can see, and can be dangerous if one doesn’t recognize that is what they are going through; even more so if they have never gone through the same journey or anything similar.
If you are like me, and have experienced multiple major surgeries or occurrences in one’s life such as loss of multiple children, major organ failures, surgeries, or my current and most recent challenge, the heart condition those goes unknown and unpredictable daily, it can be a fight that seems never ending. None of these experiences or journey through healing were the same, and it was a battle of learning all over again EVERY TIME. By others who may be arrogant, prideful, or ‘holier than thou’, it can easily be dismissed as depression or an un-healed version of one’s personal growth. Unfortunately, it is not that simple, and we need to get educated, FAST!
In a study of “depression and postoperative complications” by the National Library of Medicine, ” evidence shows that acute postoperative pain causes depression and depression lowers the threshold for pain. Depression is also a strong predictor and correlate of chronic post-surgical pain”. They have concluded, among other things related to this topic, that chronic pain, or pain associated in the post-operative healing and recovery process, can lead to depression and these cases being higher for multiple surgeries in a short period of time. Where this stands true and stands alone, professionals in their field of Psychology such as Donna Novak, Psy.D. would agree that, “While there is no ONE cause of depression, generally, it’s the result of a combination of factors … medical conditions may lead to or trigger depression, as well as life events and environmental factors can contribute significantly to depression” (2025). She would also conclude that, “Help IS, in fact, available and that there is NO SHAME in reaching out for support. Millions of people suffer from depression, and is NOT a sign of weakness”.
We have barely scratched the surface in the full understanding of the mind, body, and spirit connections that connect the biological, anatomical, and spiritual parts of our being that make us “human”. We are so quick to think we have all the answers as the dominant species of intelligence, yet, we know NOTHING without properly educating ourselves about these sorts of topics. Unfortunately, being the know-it-all generation, some would also begin to draw their own conclusions based on their tainted worldview developed from their own experiences, traumas, or short-comings and deflect them onto others as if THEY were the problem, rather than holding up the mirror and confronting their own lives.

I have dedicated the majority of my life to finding the answers that are NECESSARY to bring the peace required to break the norms, and push past the pain; to help those who feel hopeless because of their experiences in all capacities related to the psychological connection of the mind, body, and spirit. As if our experiences were not enough, we have also dealt with people who are cruel and abusive in our states of weaknesses passing judgement on our healing methods or even in the things we can’t control; such as the length of time required for healing. Even if you find yourself as a dominant, assertive, or alpha personality, everyone has a breaking point at which, it becomes difficult to deal with the abuse of others; especially those who claim to love us.
People are quick to rush us into healing, not knowing themselves enough about the topic to have an opinion, let alone, have the correct information for what they are believing in their own twisted sense of understanding. Let me say for the record, that these are people who are NOT medical professionals, or have ANY formal training on healing. For those of you who are NOT easily broken by the death and destruction spoken on your life, again, I solute you. I am proud of you. Go out there and use your story to be your fight song, and maybe, just maybe, you can bring hope to this dying world, or you could even save a life.
As for me, I will not be silenced EVER, instead I continue to provide the necessary clarity and defense for individuals who have not yet found their tune, no matter what my own challenges are or the death that has been spoken over me through mental/emotional influence that I can only describe as DEMONIC. Anyone who hurts someone on purpose, who desires hurt for another through words, actions, slander, or passivity on PURPOSE is evil, and you ARE NOT the problem, I assure you. THEY ARE! If you ever had a bully in your lifetime, then you know exactly what I mean. Stay encouraged my friends; they can’t hurt you.

You are not alone, and you are more than your pain, your depression, and your brokeness. Be encouraged to know you have more power than you think. You are not the names you have been called, you are more than your disease, your surgery, or your loss. You have the power to move forward, one step, one crawl, one hop, one roll at a time. Be kind to yourself, and TAKE YOUR TIME. It is not a race, and you do not have to over-compensate like those around us. You are beautiful in your own way, even in the pain.
Keep moving forward. Take captive each thought, take hold of each struggle, and take flight in your journey. This life will wait on you, and those who need it most, will benefit from you stepping into your God given purpose in YOUR TIME with a powerful story to tell. Do not let the insecurities, the unwillingness, the unforgiveness, or the harshness of others decide who you will be. You are more than what they see now, and what they see later they could have never imagined. God has his hands on you and your life. Watch him prepare a table for you in the midst of your enemies (Psalm 23:5) through success, strength, and true fulfillment in this life that has nothing to do what how much money you make, business, material things; but EVERYTHING to do with your soul, wisdom, and contribution to society.
Let them tear you down, tell you that you are nothing, even declare harm over your life … don’t worry about any of that. You know why? Because Karma finds EVERYONE. And those who cause harm on purpose, attract her faster! Keep thriving in the light, you were made for greatness and nothing will stop it, even if there is a delay. The darkness of others can’t take your light. The lies of others, can’t stop the truth. The haters of this life will only position and elevate you further into your purpose. Thank them, forgive them, and welcome the other haters that are in preparation to come your way. Learn how to use your weapons well.
